Managing Partner of VGD Corporate Finance CEE responsible for its activities in Central Europe. He became a founding partner of VGD Corporate Finance in 2003. He has a track record of more than 20 years in managing positions in investment and commercial banking.
Before the foundation of the company, he was a director at division of „Financial institutions and securities“ (Global Securities Services) in Bank Austria Creditanstalt and HVB Bank (UniCredit) for 10 years. During that period the bank achieved to be number two provider of banking services to international and domestic financial institutions. At the later stage he was covering also the area of electronic banking and branch network.
Václav was active in various successful complex transactions, often with international component – e.g. in sectors energy, electronics, logistics, printed and internet media, IT, chemistry, construction, recycling, medical services etc.
Václav graduated from The School of Business Administration of Silesian University and holds MBA from Nottingham Trent University, UK. He is a long-term member of the appeal committee within the Czech National Bank. Vaclav speaks English and German.
Filip Otruba is a Partner and Director of Corporate Finance, responsible for the equity team with a focus on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and other equity products. He joined VGD CF in 2012 and has a 22-year investment banking experience, starting his carrier in 1995 at Zivnostenska banka and later on working at CA IB and UniCredit as a Chairman of the Board.
Filip worked on numerous successfully closed transactions including the divestment of SAFINA, the acquisition of České Radiokomunikace (representing Deutsche bank Special Situations Group), Brněnské veletrhy a výstavy (Messe Dusseldorf), Polish power plants Skawina/ELCHO (ČEZ) and divestments of the internet portal Atlas.cz, IT systems integrator Infinity, IPO of the developer ECM and several dozens of other transactions.
Filip holds a Masters degree from the Czech Technical University (Economy of Energy) and is a DEA graduate of the French Oil Institute, Paris. He speaks English, French, and Spanish.
Director Project Finance
Petr Beránek is a Director of Project Finance, responsible for the debt team with a focus on domestic project and acquisition finance and other debt products. He joined VGDCF team in 2008 with more than 14 years of experience in corporate banking and financial markets.
Petr worked on numerous successful transactions incl. bond issue for ČEZ, a.s. (Euromoney Award 1995 „Emerging Market Bond Deal of the Year“), first issue program of S/T corporate notes (for Transfinance), financing of PPP projects (DBFO project of the public lighting in Prague for Eltodo-Citelum, EPC project of energy services for Praha-Motol General Hospital for ECM-ABB consortium) and power industry projects (acquisition and reconstruction of the portfolio of small hydro power plants for Energo Pro, acquisition of the portfolio of the local distribution networks for Lument Distribuční Soustavy).
Petr holds a Master degree from the Czech Technical University (Economics and Management of Power Engineering). Later on, he passed series of specialized courses in Great Britain, Italy, Czech Republic and Belgium. He is fluent in English and Czech (mother tongue) and has a passive knowledge of French and Russian.
These include the financing of the logistic parks to the amount of EUR 57 m for the group D+D, obtaining finance for a residential project to the amount of CZK 323 m for Turkish developer F&S Invest and the sale of a solar power plant with 5 MW of power.
Michal has six years of experience leading a financial team as a Financial Director in one of the biggest logistic providers in the ČR with sales of over EUR 40mil. In addition to overseeing the day to day business of the department, Michal managed a series of major projects, such as the implementation of IFRS, reporting, controlling and the financial software from Oracle.
Michal holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Economics, Prague and speaks English fluently.
Before Jan joined VGD Corporate Finance, he had worked in audit and valuation department of VGD for 3 years. Besides assisting audit engagements of important domestic and international companies he was involved in valuations of companies and loan portfolios as well as office and industrial real estates.
Jan holds a Master degree from the Technical University of Liberec with a major in business administration. Jan also passed corporate and real estate valuation courses at the University of Economics in Prague (VSE). He speaks English and passive German.
Prior to joining VGD, Michal worked for an advisory company Quinary Capital Partners where he was responsible mainly for financial modeling and as an Investment Analyst with 3TS Capital Partners, CEE private equity and venture capital fund with EUR 150m under the management. He started his professional career at local VC investment company Milestone Partners, responsible for the analyses of various early stage and other investment projects.
Michal graduated in 2003 and holds MA from the University of Economics in Bratislava. In 2008 he attended EVCA Course for Investment Professionals. He speaks English.
Analyst Corporate Finance
Marek Leja has been working for VGD Corporate Finance as an analyst since 2018, being responsible for market research, company analysis, financial modeling and planning, indicative valuation of the company.
In the past, Marek worked as an assistant to the expert in the company BDO Appraisal services, performing the financial analysis and the valuation of the various companies and expert opinion writing.
Marek holds a master degree in the field of Finance from the University of Economics in Prague. He speaks English.
Analyst Project Finance
Martina Janoušková has been working for VGD CF as a Financial Analyst since 2017. Her responsibility lies within the scope of complete financial analysis during the project financing.
It includes collection and preparation of supporting materials for financial modeling, market research and preparation of analyses for output reports for clients and financial organs. During her carrier life at VGD CF, Martina has been involved in the projects including a business valuation of one of the largest real estate agency in the Czech Republic and a property buy-out of a manufacturing company that specializes in the automotive industry.
Martina holds a BA from the University of Economics in Prague in the field of Accounting and Financial management of the company and a master degree in International Business Economics from Aalborg University, Denmark. During her studies in Denmark she gained a work experience from internships in London and California. This contributed to gaining both practical and personal experience.
Martina speaks fluent English and passive Russian and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling.
